Shrine & Museum is now open to the public.
The Shrine and Museum reopened to visitors on April 19, 2021. Shrine hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM CT. Museum hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM CT.
The Shrine is located at 8433 Bailey Road
The Shrine Museum of St. Therese is located at 8501 Bailey Road
We are located on Bailey Road in Darien, IL, just 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, right off I-55 at Cass Avenue North exit 273B, the National Shrine and Museum of St. Therese are conveniently located and still a beautiful private retreat. The Carmelite Campus features over 40 acres of grounds, including beautiful Stations of the Cross and a number of prayer stations and sacred spaces throughout the grounds.

The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time. The Shrine building is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ample parking is available around the Shrine building and all entrances are wheelchair-accessible. If you’re interested in planning a visit for a group larger than 20 people, we offer a variety of special guided tour packages with options for meals and lodging.
Weekday Mass
Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. Central Time. Mass takes place in the National Shrine building. Weekday Mass currently requires registration to attend. You can register to attend on our Mass Registration page.
Carmelite Gift Shop
Open Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central Time. The gift shop is located inside the Museum building. View the Carmelite Gift Shop website here.
Carmelite Spiritual Center
